No external voltage regulation resistor and preregulator modules are required.

China, on May 14, 2019 - stmicroelectronics L5965 seven road car output power management IC (PMIC) directly support the battery voltage power supply, the output voltage and the electric timing can be set up by the register, on-chip integration function of security mechanism, let vision system and other car electronic control unit (ECU) for vehicle application size becomes smaller, higher reliability.

It is equipped with seven-channel stabilized voltage output, and only one L5965 chip CAN drive all functions of the driving assistance system based on camera or radar, including sensor, memory, processor and CAN interface circuit. The output voltage and power-on timing setting data are stored in a one-time programmable (OTP) memory, enabling designers to flexibly configure PMIC according to the needs of various advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) and other on-board applications.

L5965 can be directly charged from the vehicle battery, without the need to connect the pre-stabilized voltage module in the input front end;Register setting output voltage function replaces external voltage setting resistance; No external compensation circuit is required for on-chip voltage stabilizer operation. The benefits of reducing external components are not limited to reducing packaging area and bom costs, but also eliminating performance fluctuations of external components due to environmental impacts, thereby improving system reliability and accuracy.

The integrated functional safety technology complies with ISO 26262 standards to ensure that the system meets asil-d's automotive safety integrity level (ASIL) requirements.Safety mechanisms include fault status pins, voltage monitors, ground detection comparators, analog and digital circuit internal self-check (BIST) functions, and temperature monitors.

Stmicroelectronics is ramping up production of the L5965. Currently, the sample is packaged in a low-cost 7mm x 7mm miniature QFN48 with no radiator required.
